Research studies that use Animals are flawed. It is really a case of apples and oranges.

There have been many things said about why using animals for Research is wrong and legitimate reasons provided for why it is wrong.   The studies are useless.  They are flawed even before they are started, but that hasn’t stopped the Researchers/Academics/Scientists from continuing  their study that uses animals.  It really is about money and fame; all for the glory of publishing an article, which will benefit them in some way.

The truth of it all is this:

The animals that are used for “research” :

The animals sit in a uniform area in an environment that is controlled.  The animals eat their feed, unless it is a food study, but for the most part they eat their “feed” that is given to them.  The food is the same, day after day.  And, they get water to drink.

The animals are subject to when the lights are turned on and when they are turned off.  Usually on a schedule that does not vary.  So, they generally go to sleep when the lights are turned out and wake up when the lights are turned on.

They live in an area that does not vary, a cage or a kennel, that is cleaned on a schedule.  The temperature of the room is controlled for them and is constant and will not vary.

The animals are controlled and limited to what they are exposed.

The Researchers take the animals and use them for their studies that are supposed to “help” humans.  But, the applicability of that study that was just done using those animals is really NOT APPLICABLE.

Why?  ALL HUMANS ARE DIFFERENT.

Humans do not live the way the animals that are used for testing live.   They go out and eat and drink whatever they like.  The food that they eat may or may not have additives or chemicals added to the food.  And, no one really eats and drinks the same thing.  Humans all have their personal “likes” and “dislikes” when it comes to food and drink.

Humans do not all go to sleep at the same time.  Some stay up late, others go to sleep early.  Some sleep 4 hours a night, others may need 9 hours.

Humans do different things and are exposed to different things.  The air they breathe may be full of smog or country clean.  Humans do not all breathe the same type of air-filled with whatever is in their area.  Even where they work is different.  Some sit close to a window and are exposed to sunlight.  Others may work somewhere that does not have windows.  Some go out and exercise, some do not.

The variations can go on and on.  The reason that something may work in animals and not in humans is that the animals used for research are all controlled.  Humans are just too varied.  Even genetically, humans are different.   Family members are different; for example, one may have an allergy to penicillin but the rest of the family does not.

There are too many variations in Humans for “animal research” to be applicable. It really is a case of apples and oranges.  One is controlled and the results from that controlled study cannot be applicable to Humans because Humans are not controlled, there are too many variations for that study to have any worth.

It is a joke to say that using animals for Research will benefit “humans”, it only benefits humans by allowing them to make money or to attain fame.   An example of this would be the Fukushima cattle that the Researchers and the Japan Veterinary Medical Association would like to make into “edible” livestock so that they can sell them to be eaten and make everyone money.
