Fukushima Exclusion Zone Feral Cattle and the Government of Japan’s Propaganda Machine, Too Bad It Also Reveals How Ridiculous They Are

September 6, 2011

As someone who has been around livestock and has family with livestock, this report made me laugh.  Again, the Government of Japan is revealing itself to be a bunch of incompetent officials.  They issue reports that reflect their total ignorance of the topic.   Maybe this is their attempt to show that there exists a need for the Government of Japan to step in and euthanize or hunt down the feral cattle running rampant.  It really is something out of one of those bad  “B” movies that Japan used to make.

I called up some friends in Texas and asked them if they had ever heard of cattle as being feral, they just laughed.  And, asked where did I hear about feral cattle.  I told them about this report put out by Japanese government officials and they just laughed even more.

My friends said that the government just didn’t know what it was talking about.  And, although some people might think that cattle could be feral, most cattle people would say that what those animals are doing is what cattle will do.  They graze and move to another area to graze.  And, when you want to gather them up, you have a ” round-up” and round them up.

The use of the word feral by the Government officials would infer that these are dangerous animals.  But, it’s a lie.

An article reported that :

The Fukushima prefectural government said Friday that at least 1,000 cattle have escaped the confines of their farm homesteads within the 20-kilometer exclusion zone around the stricken Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, and have likely gone feral.
