Helping the Fukushima Livestock was never the intent of the Government of Japan

April 16, 2013

firstsurvey

The Government of Japan did its first “animal” survey on April 15, 2011 and it was submitted to : Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Japan Veterinary Medical Association, Veterinary Medical Association Fukushima, International Fund for Animal Welfare.
This survey conducted by veterinarians is thorough; they check and count livestock, the number alive and the number dead. The Fukushima left behind pets were included, but not as important. The reason for this survey was NOT to find out what was the condition of the livestock and how to help them, but to be able to help the Government of Japan assess the ECONOMICAL IMPACT of the disasters on their Livestock industry.

They counted animals and left. The Japanese veterinarians doing the survey DID NOTHING to help the livestock survivors that they found. They left the livestock in the condition that they were found. They did not remove any wandering pets. They did not come back later to help them either until the second survey. It can be seen by the photos of the surviving animals that were taken later by rescue groups that were entering the area to try and help the any animal that had survived, including livestock, as best they could, groups like the Kinship Circle.
