Reposting: Now that Ruriko from Hachiko Animal Federation is helping Farm Arcadia with translations, do they need to worry about being sold out like Kachiku-Otasuke Tai. was?

March 28, 2013

Update : Farm Arcadia actually shut down.  That makes 2 for 2 cattle farms that were being assisted by Ruriko.  I am not sure how the Hoshi Family “farm” with their cattle and the subsequent arrest of the 2 Hoshi family members will impact the farm, but I am betting that this farm will also be shutting down.  That makes 3 for 3.   Imagine that.  (Not sure if it has to do with the “study” that she and Dr. Imamoto had collaborated to do with cattle and their offspring.   Time will tell.  All animal researchers don’t do a study and THEN NOT PUBLISH IT.  Time is on my side.

Ruriko , an administrator for the Hachiko Coalition is very helpful with translating.  She does so for a few sites.  The funny thing about all of this is, that even though she states that she was a member of Kachiku-Otasuke-Tai. org, she didn’t really do much translating for them.  A quick check of their facebook site shows this. Not much promoting their cause.  Was she just a member to check and see how this organization may affect plans to do Animal Studies using the cattle that she had in place?  Is she doing the same with Farm Arcadia? Only time will tell.

According to Hoshi’s friend: Mr. Yoshizawa and his farm do not exist in the Fukushima No-Go Zone

Mr. Yoshizawa, the man that brought the plight of the Fukushima cattle to everyone’s attention and has a farm and cattle in the Fukushima No-Go Zone and seen here working his farm; he doesn’t exist.

From the article:  It’s a dog’s life for activist jailed for rescuing pets in nuke zone
Ruriko Yoshida, a friend of the Hoshis who has helped them with their rescues, said authorities were trying to minimise attention on the situation in Fukushima in the lead up to the second anniversary on March 11.
Almost all livestock within the exclusion zone have died, with the exception of those cared for by the lone ‘‘holdout’’ — farmer Naoto Matsumura, who has refused to leave his property.”

Now that is a HUGE surprise : Read it again.

“Almost all livestock within the exclusion zone have died, with the exception of those cared for by the lone ‘‘holdout’’ — farmer Naoto Matsumura, who has refused to leave his property.”

Shigeki Imamoto, ” Fortunately because we were not allowed to rescue……It was a mistake that we did not start doing research from the beginning.”

For those individuals that didn’t know about Shigeki Imamoto and what he really thought about the Fukushima left behind animals.  He did go on tour talking about the Fukushima animals, but that was specifically set up for him to do that.  When you look at those videos that he took, didn’t you wonder what he did OTHER THAN TAKE PICTURES?  That was part of his job, to count animals NOT TO SAVE THEM.  He collected money for the animals but where did that money go?

6HC: In your opinion, what are the radiation levels inside the 20km zone and have you seen any mutations in animals because of certain radiation levels? We understand you study genetics and associated diseases.

“Fortunately because we were not allowed to rescue, there are many new born cows and pigs in the exclusion zone. So far we do not have reports on mutations from the effects of radiation. It was a mistake that we did not start doing research from the beginning. However if I could do more research, I would like to do continue researching radiation and genetic mutations. Some genomes would be damaged by radiation. However depending on the damaged location the effect would differ. So far I have not seen any animals whose genomes are so critically damaged.”

” I was a group leader since it was called Fukushima Seibutsu shigen housha sen chousa dan (Fukushima animal resource radiation research group) before it became the VAFFA.”
