Noda support rate down to 53%. It should be no surprise. When you shuffle a deck, using the same cards, but put them in a different order, the result is the same. Someone should have folded with this hand.

Noda support rate down to 53%

The latest NHK poll shows that the support rate for Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda’s cabinet is down 7 points from last month, to 53 percent. 27 percent of the respondents said they do not support Noda’s cabinet. That’s up 9 percent from the previous poll.

NHK polled 1,681 randomly selected adults nationwide over the 3 days through Monday. 1,081 people responded.

Of those who support the cabinet, 38 percent said it looks better than other cabinets and 30 percent said they trust Noda.

36 percent of those who disapprove of the cabinet said they do not expect much from its policies, 24 percent said they do not support the governing parties.

40 percent of the respondents said Japan should join preliminary talks for the Trans-Pacific Partnership, or TPP, while 9 percent opposed the idea. 40 percent said they do not agree or disagree with the idea.

Japan’s government is to make a decision on the matter before next month’s Asia-Pacific Economic forum meeting.
