According to the Japanese blog, this dog was located in Tomioka and died from hunger waiting for its owner.  Hey, Naoto Matsumura, Lone Holdout of Tomioka, Benevolent king, where were you or did you not have a photographer handy?

The Ostrich: “They’re stupid creatures but not evil.” vs Naoto Matsumura, King of the Forbidden Zone

March 30, 2013

ostrich

On the ostrich:

“Matsumura has been looking after 400 cows, 60 pigs, 30 fowls, 10 dogs, more than hundred cats and an ostrich. **The ostrich was the official mascot of TEPCO; they brought it to the town, allegedly. The ostrich was supposed to represent energy efficiency. The ostrich needs very little food to survive and thrive; it’s a very energetic animal. Unfortunately, it also has a tendency to bury its head in the sand when dealing with danger and is not a very bright bird. It makes a fitting symbol for TEPCO and its executives. (There is, however, no past history of ostriches being arrested for criminal negligence resulting in death and/or injury. They’re stupid creatures but not evil.)”

**The number of animals that are claimed by Naoto Matsumura vary.  No reason given why the numbers vary.  At one time he was caretaker of 100′s of dogs, 16 dogs, …..  And, the pigs??? When has anyone seen anything new about the pigs? And, as the reporter has indicated, its just fine to label an animal as stupid.  There is nothing wrong with that since the article is really not about the Fukushima animals, but Naoto Matsumura.  (Maybe the ostrich is not a “sentient” being.)

And about Naoto Matsumura:

“He is the King of The Forbidden Zone; its protector. He is the caretaker or empty houses, a point of contact for those citizen who can’t return. He takes care of the animals, “the sentient beings”, that remain behind because no one else will.  He is the Buddha of the forbidden zone.”

“In this human desert, the air seems so pure, that one could forget the radioactive contamination that cannot be measured without a Geiger counter. Matsumura lives in his dangerous solitude like a king, and the forbidden zone is his kingdom. He treats the animals that live in there like his friends. He is a benevolent king.”

The winner of this article is definitely Naoto Matsumua.  The Fukushima animals were mentioned but it was mostly an article that pays homage to Naoto Matsumura, the Buddha and Benevolent King.  Here is something to think about, how many new animal photos have you seen from the King?

And, if anyone is interested:

A Few People Defy Evacuation Order, Live In The Zone  January 16th, 2012 |
According to Mainichi, 11 people are defying the evacuation order and still living in the evacuation zone. Most are elderly and are staying with others too weak to make the move.  (Too bad they don’t have a publicity staff so that more people would know about them.)

Naoto Matsumura also has a little pony, called Yama, here is where Yama was being kept at one time.

Naoto Matsumura also has a little pony, called Yama.  The photos will show you what the public gets to see and what they don’t get to see.  You will recognize the photo that is shown when Yama is trotted out for those great “photo shoots, featuring non other than Naoto Matsumura, the Guardian of Fukushima’s Animals, the Buddha of the Forbidden Zone, …….  You may not recognize the ones where he was being kept at one time before complaints were made about the condition of the pens that the cattle were being forced to live.  And, there is a great cover story for that, “spin doctors” to the rescue.

Where Yama was being kept:

If you look at Yama’ legs, you will be able to see how much mud he and the cattle had to stand in.  That is before the Buddhist Priest from” Official blog of the Board to protect the livestock affected Fukushima (King)” posted photos of cattle that were being kept by Endo-san, Naoto Matsumura’s friend and partner.   It is no surprise that shortly after the Priest made the complaint and posted photos that the “Official blog of the Board to protect the livestock affected Fukushima (King)” another Tomioka farm keeping cattle, was shut down and the priest was never heard from again.  And, some of the more damaging photos have gone missing.  http://ameblo.jp/fukushimakachikusos/.  There are some that may recognize that these are the Sosei water company pens.

Here is what everyone got to see:

Thanks to Mr. Naoto Matsumura’s publicity friends, only the best photos get shown to the public.  It’s great when there is not a whole of people to stop by and really see what is going on.  Being the “Lone Man of Tomioka (with your photographer friends) does have its advantages.
